Window and door questions from Blackpool homeowners
How long does a window and door installation take in Blackpool?
A full house of windows is usually one to two days, and a single door or bifold set is normally a day. We template every opening at the survey so the frames arrive right first time, which is what keeps a Blackpool job to one visit instead of two. You get the fitting dates in the written quote.
Will your windows stand up to the Blackpool sea air?
That is the right question to ask on this coast. Salt air and driven rain punish cheap ironmongery long before they touch the frames, so on exposed Blackpool, Bispham and Cleveleys properties we specify the hardware and seals accordingly and tell you exactly what is going in. Anything facing the Promenade gets the same treatment as a seafront job.
Can you replace just a misted or blown unit?
Yes, and it is often the cheaper answer. If the frames are still sound we swap the glass unit only and leave the window in place. If the seals or hinges have gone as well we will tell you honestly that a new frame is the better spend rather than selling you a repair twice.
Do windows and doors need building regulations approval?
Replacement glazing has to meet building regulations for thermal performance, ventilation and escape openings, and it is notified rather than needing a planning application. We handle that side and hand over the paperwork on completion so it is there when you come to sell.
