Home Extension FAQs for Blackpool & the Fylde
How long does a home extension take in Blackpool?
A single-storey extension across Blackpool and the Fylde is usually six to ten weeks from breaking ground to handover, depending on size and how much internal work you want. We give you a realistic programme in the written quote rather than a best case, and because we are a coastal patch we build weather contingency into the groundworks stage.
Do I need planning permission for an extension in Blackpool or Wyre?
Most single-storey rear extensions fall under permitted development, so no application to Blackpool, Wyre or Fylde council is needed. It still has to satisfy building regulations, and we submit and manage the building control side either way. We deal with those councils regularly and tell you at the survey which route yours takes.
How much does a home extension cost on the Fylde Coast?
It depends on size, groundworks and how the inside is finished, so we do not publish a headline figure that turns out to be wrong. After the survey you get one itemised written quote covering foundations, shell, roof, glazing and internal finish, with nothing left to be added later.
Will you handle the foundations and drainage?
Yes. We excavate, pour the footings and deal with drainage and manhole diversions ourselves. A lot of Blackpool and Cleveleys properties sit on sandy coastal ground, so we check the depth needed at survey rather than assuming, and any extra dig goes in the quote before we start.
Do you cover my part of Blackpool and the Fylde?
We are based in Cleveleys, ten minutes from Blackpool, and cover Bispham, Thornton, Poulton-le-Fylde, Fleetwood, Lytham, Kirkham, Garstang and the surrounding areas. Free surveys and quotes throughout. Call 01253 462351, email fourseasonslancs@gmail.com, or send your postcode and we will confirm.
